New Delhi, July 31: Admitting that it is not easy to detect and remove accounts belonging to people under the age of 13, Facebook has said that it is looking at ways to convince people under age 13 to not lie about their age, including using the artificial intelligence (AI) technology. Facebook and Instagram weren't designed for people under the age of 13, so the company is now creating new ways to stop those who are underage from signing up. Google Team Uses AI To Create Next-Gen Chips Faster Than Humans. "We're developing AI to find and remove underaged accounts, and new solutions to verify people's ages. We're also building new experiences designed specifically for those under 13," said Pavni Diwanji, VP of Youth Products at Facebook.
From a business perspective, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are two increasingly dominant technology trends. Together, these two technologies – AI and IoT – promise to go beyond mere buzzwords and redefine the future of Industrial Automation. The combination of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things – so-called Artificial Intelligence of Things ("AIoT") – is gaining momentum as companies move towards digitization. AIoT is helping to discover trends, patterns and relationships between connected machines. AIoT symbolizes a more modern way of sharing AI, taking it out of the data center and integrating it directly into the tools we use every day.
"In a certain sense I think that artificial intelligence is a bad name for what it is we're doing here," says Kevin Scott, chief technology officer of Microsoft. "As soon as you utter the words'artificial intelligence' to an intelligent human being, they start making associations about their own intelligence, about what's easy and hard for them, and they superimpose those expectations onto these software systems." This might seem like a purely academic debate. Whatever we call it, surely what matters most about "AI" is the way it is already transforming what can seem like almost every industry on earth? Not to mention the potential it has to displace millions of workers in trades ranging from white to blue collar, from the back office to trucking?
The graph represents a network of 1,043 Twitter users whose tweets in the requested range contained "iiot machinelearning", or who were replied to or mentioned in those tweets. The network was obtained from the NodeXL Graph Server on Friday, 30 July 2021 at 11:02 UTC. The requested start date was Friday, 30 July 2021 at 00:01 UTC and the maximum number of tweets (going backward in time) was 7,500. The tweets in the network were tweeted over the 2-day, 16-hour, 44-minute period from Tuesday, 27 July 2021 at 06:49 UTC to Thursday, 29 July 2021 at 23:34 UTC. Additional tweets that were mentioned in this data set were also collected from prior time periods.
Twitter has a new way to rid itself of artificial intelligence bias: pay outsiders to help it find problems. On Friday, the short-message app maker detailed a new bounty competition that offers prizes of up to $3,500 for showing Twitter how its technology incorrectly handles photos. Earlier this year, Twitter confirmed a problem in its automatic photo cropping mechanism, concluding the software favored white people over Black people. The cropping mechanism, which Twitter calls its "saliency algorithm," is supposed to present the most important section of an image when you're scrolling through tweets. Twitter's approach to tackling algorithmic bias -- asking outside experts and observers to study its code and results -- innovates on bug bounties, which have historically been used for reporting security vulnerabilities.
In our high-speed, multi-tasking culture, fundamental shifts are happening in the way we interact with search technology. Today, mobile devices are the source of 60% of all online searchers. As voice-to-text technology has improved on smartphones and other devices, so has adoption of voice-based commands. In their research recap "Prepare for the Voice Revolution" PWC reports the majority of survey respondents said searching online with voice assistants--like Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa--is easier, more convenient, and faster than speaking to a human or texting on a phone. Although younger mobile-first consumers are driving adoption, PWC states, they aren't using the tech as frequently as their 55 counterparts.
The dynamic nature of this domain spikes interest of tech prodigies, compelling them to research and innovate. Staying updated with the latest trends is arguably the most crucial factor of success in this space. The app resellers must stay in the learning loop to know how to keep their apps atop the charts. In 2020, the onset of COVID-19 resulted in a dramatic shoot of demand for specific app categories. Download figures for apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Team hit the roof.

With the threat landscape constantly evolving and increasing in complexity, continued digital innovation, technological developments, and the introduction of 5G, coupled with the challenges of accelerated remote working practices and a growing cybersecurity skills gap, have collectively exacerbated the challenges that CISOs face in terms of protecting their companies' digital assets. However, enhancing AI solutions with machine learning, augmented intelligence, and analytics capabilities, among others, lets CISOs create a much stronger cybersecurity ecosystem for their organisation. "To reinforce a robust cybersecurity ecosystem, CISOs must develop strategic, proactive cybersecurity approaches that leverage AI-driven solutions to act on threat intelligence. In addition to leveraging solutions like augmented intelligence, analytics, and machine learning combined with AI, CISOs should consider resourcing their IT and security teams with the right people to strengthen their security strategy. "However, CISOs can improve efficiencies and strengthen their security operations by leveraging AI solutions and tools, particularly those with built-in automation and integration, to alleviate the pressure on IT teams without reducing the effectiveness of the security strategy."
