WIRED

Amazon's Prime Day has grown into one of the biggest online shopping holidays of the year, thanks to the tech and retail giant's massive commercial reach (which is also cause for concern). Rival sales from other retailers are plentiful now too. As we have for many years, members of the WIRED Gear Team are sorting through hundreds of thousands of deals, cross-checking our "Best of" guides, and debating what the absolute greatest Prime Day deals are right now. Below you'll find our top picks. If you're new to this shopping holiday, be sure to check our Prime Day shopping tips before you start clicking. Note: We regularly update articles and strike through items that sell out or rise in price as of publishing, and we mark discounts based on recent product pricing or average price, not MSRP. Be sure to check discounts for yourself. Our picks come from research and our extensive experience reviewing products. You'll need an Amazon Prime subscription to get most of these deals. Updated Tuesday: We've updated pricing throughout, struck out or removed dead deals, and added new ones like the MacPook pro, Acer Swift 3, Dyson V8, Dyson Air Purifier, Traeger Grill, and more. Walmart is battling Amazon for the best deals this Prime Day

Mashable

Here are the best sales to shop during Walmart's Deals for Days event as of June 20: Oh, you thought Walmart was just going to sit there and twiddle its thumbs while one of its biggest rivals ran a massive two-day sale with over two million deals? As Amazon revs up for its sixth annual Prime Day event on June 21 and 22, the big box store kicked off its own "Deals for Days" shopping extravaganza on Sunday, June 20, with "Black Friday-like savings" up for grabs online and in stores now through Wednesday, June 23. The best part is that Walmart isn't hiding Deals for Days behind any sort of subscription -- unlike Amazon, which has pages of markdowns that are exclusive to its Prime members -- nor will it make you pay for two-day shipping on any order over $35. Certain ZIP codes even qualify for free next-day delivery on $35-plus orders of eligible items. But enough chit-chat -- let's get this shopping party started.

AI is blurring the lines between in-store retail and ecommerce

#artificialintelligence

Putting artificial intelligence (AI) to work within the fashion trade is nothing new really. And technology has frequently been pressed into service to improve retail experiences, with new innovations supporting brick-and-mortar outlets as they pursued higher profit margins. And all along, ecommerce platforms have improved their services with the help of digital tools. Prior to this, customers might have been able to order custom-fitted clothing from physical stores, 3D printed to their body sizes. In its first virtual show, the Shanghai Fashion Week tapped the potential of live-streaming, 5G technology, and the digital marketplace to bring the show to a larger audience than ever before.

The best Memorial Day tech sales we could find

The unofficial summer kickoff is here and, even though Memorial Day weekend has barely started, we're already starting to see gadgets discounted across the web. Some of Apple's latest devices are on sale, including the MacBook Air M1 and the 10.2-inch iPad, and Amazon's sale on Fire TV devices is still ongoing. GameStop's Memorial Day discounts include Nintendo Switch games and accessories, while gadgets like robot vacuums, smartwatches and Bluetooth speakers are on sale across the web. It's hard to say how long these deals will last, but typically Memorial Day sales last through the Monday holiday, so you have a couple more days to decide where you want your money going. Here are the best Memorial Day tech sales we could find.

This kid-friendly Lenovo tablet with Google Assistant is on sale for just $99

Mashable

The Lenovo Smart Tab M8 is on sale at Walmart for just $99 as of May 21 -- that's 18% off its suggested retail price of $119.99. Hot take: Middle schoolers are the trickest group to shop for when you're in the market for a kid-friendly tablet. Your little tyke's probably going to outgrow Amazon's popular Fire Kids tablet lineup by age 10 or so -- even the new Pro models won't be much use to them past age 12 -- but something like an iPad is a bit much for their purposes (especially with no dedicated parental controls). That's where the Lenovo Smart Tab M8 comes in. Plus, Mom and Dad can get down with its extremely reasonable pricing -- we found it on sale for just $99 at Walmart as of May 21, which is a good 18% off its $119.99

Mashable

The 2020 Apple Mac Mini with Apple M1 chip (8GB RAM, 512GB SSD) is $799.99 at Amazon as of May 4 with an additional discount at checkout. Apple dropped a ton of new products on us during their last event, but it's never enough to stop new rumors. The latest hot gossip is that the newer, more powerful Apple M2 processor might be ready to ship later this summer. But if you need a new computer right now, the highly-rated M1 chip still provides plenty of performance at a more reasonable price. SEE ALSO: Apple's all-new iPad Pro is already on sale at Walmart -- save $50 on your preorder One of your options is the 2020 Apple Mac Mini with the M1 chip, 8GB RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage for $799.99 at Amazon.
