Koomey's law This law posits that the energy efficiency of computation doubles roughly every one-and-a-half years (see Figure 1–7). In other words, the energy necessary for the same amount of computation halves in that time span. To visualize the exponential impact this has, consider the face that a fully charged MacBook Air, when applying the energy efficiency of computation of 1992, would completely drain its battery in a mere 1.5 seconds. According to Koomey's law, the energy requirements for computation in embedded devices is shrinking to the point that harvesting the required energy from ambient sources like solar power and thermal energy should suffice to power the computation necessary in many applications. Metcalfe's law This law has nothing to do with chips, but all to do with connectivity. Formulated by Robert Metcalfe as he invented Ethernet, the law essentially states that the value of a network increases exponentially with regard to the number of its nodes (see Figure 1–8).
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become an emerging growth sector in the tech economy. Both start-ups and established tech companies are working to capitalize on the technology. Analysts at Grand View Research estimate the AI market could expand to $1.8 trillion annually by 2030, suggesting a compound annual growth rate of 38% over the next eight years. These increases should serve as a solid tailwind for numerous AI stocks, and both Alphabet (GOOGL 5.11%) (GOOG 5.20%) and Palantir (PLTR 7.72%) appear well-positioned to enrich long-term investors through AI. Let's find out a bit more about these two artificial intelligence stocks.
We were blown away by the success of Bored Ape Yacht Club. As tech art fans, we wanted to see what would happen if we used these cool Apes to teach AI how to make art. The beautiful remakes of the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club were even better than we had expected. We thought that everyone should see this, so we made a collection of 10,000 Apes that were made by AI. For us, this is the start of a big push in the NFT community to make generative AI art.
There is more chatter in the AI dev world about a potential approaching AI winter and many are postulating on the likelihood of a prolonged downturn in AI funding and advancement and what that will mean for the industry. The short answer is that we are entering a sort of AI winter due to the approaching economic downturn/stagnation. This is because the volume of'free cash' flowing in the economy is being reduced by the federal govt through various actions such as Quantitative Tightening, rising interest rates and a falling stock market. The result will be that investment companies and governments will pare back high flying and beyond the bleeding edge research in AI that have brought about our current state of advanced AI development. This will primarily affect AI tech that is more directed to the general public such as novel AI infused products in areas where the returns are long term or where returns are not immediately'valuable' (i.e.
One of the boons of cryptocurrency is meant to be that no particular company, central bank or government has control. That might not be true. Researchers for a report commissioned by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) found there can be "unintended centralities" in these supposed decentralized systems. Cryptocurrency power is concentrated among people or organizations with a large chunk of the pie. "Unintended centralities" was the term used, defined as circumstances where an entity has sway over a so-called decentralized system.

For centuries, humanity has pondered the Intelligence that governs nature and scientists have attempted to unravel the nature of the human brain. A consensus on the definition of intelligence has yet to happen, as intelligence has different definitions depending on the field of study. The prevailing theory today is that intelligence is local to the brain. The Unified Intelligence DAO is a decentralized, autonomous organization challenging this perspective with the belief that investigating the distinction between Human intelligence and nature's intelligence can help humanity build more efficient and symbiotic artificial intelligence systems. At The Unified Intelligence DAO, we believe that to build such Artificial Intelligence Systems, we must first understand General intelligence.
