If you are looking for an answer to the question What is Artificial Intelligence? and you only have a minute, then here's the definition the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence offers on its home page: "the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines."
However, if you are fortunate enough to have more than a minute, then please get ready to embark upon an exciting journey exploring AI (but beware, it could last a lifetime) …
Technology is not showing signs of slowing down any time soon. As we move into cloud computing, big data, natural language processing and artificial intelligence, the employment sector is gearing up for a big boost in the number of opportunities. Organisations such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Apple are aggressively hiring people with expertise in these domains, which makes them highly lucrative. Artificial intelligence is particularly on the cusp of a breakthrough. Technologies such as machine learning, neural networks, genetic algorithms and deep learning are receiving a lot of spotlight.
First of all, when growing agricultural products, which is the first step of food production, in the future, consumers are expected to grow and use plants directly for cooking without using pesticides at home. There are already many companies that have introduced growers of plants that make this possible. Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics are examples. Vegetables are automatically grown by placing the seeds in the inner shelf of the planter, which is similar in size to a household refrigerator. Temperature, humidity and nutrients are automatically controlled by AI (artificial intelligence). Heliponics, a start-up from Purdue University in the United States, has also introduced the'Gropot' indoor plant grower. Artificial intelligence automatically adjusts the temperature and humidity of agricultural products... The entire process of distribution and transportation is tracked seamlessly using blockchain technology.
Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, and Machine Learning at the Enterprise scale are terms you've probably heard before. But what do they mean? We break it down for you in this blog. So, What Is Data Science? Data Science is a series of disciplines, technology, skills, expertise, and knowledge that encompass one thing: obtaining and preparing data for analysis.
Networking plays a critical role in one's professional life, particularly for people who depend on experts' opinions and hold curiosity about lived experiences.LinkedIn lets users connect to people of their choice, exchange ideas, or collaborate on projects. However, communicating directly with them comes at a price. Email messages for LinkedIn where users can message users directly is a premium feature. LinkedIn groups play a vital role in bringing together the tech enthusiasts to collaborate and brainstorm ideas; and it works particularly well in areas like artificial intelligence and machine learning, where you can get inputs from people who are experienced enough to instill a sense of direction and provide significant insights. It is a collaborative group of AI researchers who work on next-generation machine intelligence.
Eileen Yu began covering the IT industry when Asynchronous Transfer Mode was still hip and e-commerce was the new buzzword. Currently an independent business technology journalist and content specialist based in Singapore, she has over 20 years of industry experience with various publications including ZDNet, IDG, and Singapore Press Holdings. Big Data Exchange (BDx) has marked its entry into Indonesia's data centre market through a joint venture agreement with PT Indosat and the latter's two subsidiaries. The move aims to tap increasing demand for cloud services and connectivity. Estimated to be worth $300 million, the deal would see BDx enter a conditional sale and purchase agreement of shares (CSPA) and establish a joint venture with PT Indosat, PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta, and PT Starone Mitra Telekomunikasi (SMT). Under the agreement, BDx, Indosat, and Lintasarta would set up data centre and cloud operations in the Asian market, BDx said in a statement Thursday.
Managing data has always been a challenge for businesses. With new sources and higher volumes of data coming in all the time, it's more important than ever to have the right tools in place. Predictive analytics tools and software are the best way to accomplish this task. Data scientists and business leaders must be able to organize data and clean it to get the process started. The next step is analyzing it and sharing the results with colleagues.
