It's often said that data is the oil of the twenty-first century, and artificial intelligence is the driving force. Companies in all sectors are combining the reasoning abilities of the human mind with the processing power of computers, developing algorithms that can trawl through colossal data sets to help businesses make more informed decisions. That means that tomorrow's future business leaders need more than a passing familiarity with AI. For this reason, several of the world's best business schools have launched specialist master's programs in AI. Canada's Smith School of Business, the University of Bologna in Italy, and Imperial College London are among the top-tier institutions running AI MSc courses that give students the technical, managerial and interpersonal skills they need to master machines.
We are excited to reveal exciting new features in Datameer. Some new features were long-time requests from our most loyal customers and other new features are on the cutting-edge of data science. Tableau announced the general availability of Explain data that brings a new set of AI capabilities to its analytics platform. Founded in 2003, Seattle-based, Tableau is the leading provider of the analytics platform. The company was successfully IPO(ed) in 2013 and later acquired by Salesforce in an all-stock deal amounting to $15.7 billion in transaction. It analyzes available data and explains relevant factors for the given data point. Earlier, to derive the cause of data point, manual validation of explanations is required.
The world around us is changing fast. Already, all of us are increasingly relying on computers to help us with all aspects of our day-to-day lives. With the use of smart devices such as phones, tablets, watches, and TV's, computers are automating many of the processes is that help speed up and improve the way we live our lives. The science of artificial intelligence has been explored rigorously over the years in film. Movies such as Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, Steven Spielberg's AI, Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, and Ex Machina have all focused on artificial intelligence and how we humans will live alongside it.

This project (code, data, and results) is publicly available on Domino. Crunchbase recently converted its backend database to a Neo4j graph database. This will give it great flexibility in the future, but for now, the data is exposed similarly to how it always has been: individual entities are retrieved and attribute data must be used to form edges between them prior to any graph analysis. Aside from traversing links manually on the web pages, there are no provisions for graph analysis. To enable more powerful manipulations of this data, during my time at Zipfian Academy, I created my "Visibly Connected" project.
The advent of commonplace artificial intelligence in healthcare is only a matter of time. Over half of health professionals feel the use of AI will be widespread within the next four years, while the market for healthcare AI is expected to reach $34 billion by 2025; a huge leap from the $1 billion of 2017. Progress is inevitable, but both patients and physicians have their concerns. An Intel survey found that 30 percent of clinicians don't trust AI and neither do 36 percent of patients. Conversely, other data shows patient trust of AI is on the rise, even when it's addressing the most serious conditions.
Big Data is the unexpected resource bonanza of the current century. Moore's Law driven advances in computing power, the rise of cheap storage and advances in algorithm design have enabled the capture, storage, and processing of many types of data previously that were unavailable for use in computing systems. Documents, email, text messages, audio files, and images are now able to transform into a usable digital format for use by analysis systems, especially artificial intelligence. The AI systems can scan massive amounts of data and find both patterns and anomalies that were previously unthinkable and do so in a timeframe that was unimaginable. While most of the uses of Big Data have been coupled with AI/machine learning algorithms so companies and understand their customer's choices and improve their overall experience (think about recommendation engines, chatbots, navigation apps and digital assistants among others) there are uses that are truly industry transforming.
