You don't need"Big Data" to apply deep learning

#artificialintelligence

Disclaimer: The following is based on my observations of machine learning teams -- not an academic survey of the industry. For years, the biggest bottleneck to production deep learning was simple: we needed models that worked. And over the last decade--thanks to companies with access to unprecedented amounts of data and computer power, as well as new model architectures--we've largely cleared that hurdle. We may not have fully autonomous vehicles or Bladerunner-esque AI, but when you call an Uber, you get an accurate ETA prediction. When you open an email in Gmail, you get a contextually appropriate suggestion from Smart Compose.

For researchers, though -- ones like Edwin Odisho, who recently graduated from the Ph.D. in Aviation program from the School of Graduate Studies, College of Aviation -- data collection is just the beginning.

Creating Smart Warehouses with IoT Enabled Devices

#artificialintelligence

Meeting ever-shifting customer demands is essential for businesses to stay ahead in the competition. For efficient and quick deliveries of products, warehouse management systems should be efficient with zero scope of errors. The proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) is changing the picture of warehouse management at a fast pace. Using IoT devices like RFID tags and sensors enables warehouse managers to keep track of the exact location and progress of the product. Let's explore how IoT enabled warehouses are radically improving the operational efficiency of their supply chain.

Artificial Intelligence-based App uses the human voice to test for Corona Virus - Cybersecurity Insiders

Note– To all those who have lost the hope at the end of Corona Virus spread, here's some good news. Fujifilm's Pharmaceutical branch has started its phase 3 test trials of its Avigan (Favipiravir) drug from Tuesday to those infected with COVID 19 in Japan. It is reported that the drug stands as a one-shot antiviral drug solution against 18 types of flu and might prove effective getting rid of Corona Pandemic from the infected nations. So, the clinical trials made on the infected people in Japan have yielded excellent results and have already clinically proven by experts that it can eradicate the Ebola Virus to the core. Already Fujifilm has ramped its production in March 2020 after it started its trials in November 2019 after seeing the spread of the Wuhan Virus in China.

A match made in heaven – How AI and 5G are turning the tables on tech

#artificialintelligence

AI has grown to become quite the avid topic, especially with the way technology companies are using this intelligence in a variety of applications. But, prior to popular belief, AI has been around quite a while now, dating back to the 1980's. Do you remember the KITT car from the popular David Hasselhoff starrer – Knight Rider? The in-built AI in the car was able to have multi-lingual conversations with the driver and access every single nook and crevice of the vehicle. It could drive itself and take charge in tricky situations.

How Machine Learning Is Revolutionizing the App Industry

#artificialintelligence

Machine learning (ML), a subset of artificial intelligence, is shaping and facilitating the way we live, work, communicate, and travel. It is influencing our everyday lives and the decisions we make. As per USA Today, nearly 70% of Americans use digital assistants on their mobile phones every day, and the number is on the constant rise. In today's digital world, machine learning or AI is changing the game for app marketers and assisting them in designing feature-packed apps. The rise of ML technology has been revolutionary and will continue to bring various improvements to the app industry.

Learning from David Lynch's Most Practical Directing Advice

#artificialintelligence

Known for his surrealist imagery and unconventional storytelling techniques, director David Lynch can captivate, confuse, or disturb audiences with his films. He challenged norms with his 1977 body horror film, Eraserhead, which went on to become a cult classic after playing midnight circuits. He went on to create critical successes like Blue Velvet and Mulholland Drive, the latter of which is a dreamy, nonlinear film that can be interpreted a number of ways. Although it would be impossible to mimic Lynch's creative process and style of direction, the following nuggets of Lynchian wisdom can perhaps help aspiring filmmakers to think outside the box -- if the box exists at all. We might be dreaming right now.
