If you are looking for an answer to the question What is Artificial Intelligence? and you only have a minute, then here's the definition the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence offers on its home page: "the scientific understanding of the mechanisms underlying thought and intelligent behavior and their embodiment in machines."
However, if you are fortunate enough to have more than a minute, then please get ready to embark upon an exciting journey exploring AI (but beware, it could last a lifetime) …
Many airports hope to start using biometric scanners in lieu of passports to identify travelers. Buzz60's Tony Spitz has the details. The next time you go to the airport you might notice something different as part of the security process: A machine scanning your face to verify your identity. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has been working with airlines to implement biometric face scanners in domestic airports to better streamline security. But how does the process work?
As one of the world's busiest airports, (ranked No. 3 in 2018 according to Airports Council International's world traffic report), Dubai International Airport is also a leader in using artificial intelligence (AI). In fact, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) leads the Arab world with its adoption of artificial intelligence in other sectors and areas of life and has a government that prioritizes artificial intelligence including an AI strategy and Ministry of Artificial Intelligence with a mandate to invest in technologies and AI tools. The Emirates Ministry of the Interior said that by 2020, immigration officers would no longer be needed in the UAE. They will be replaced by artificial intelligence. The plan is to have people just walk through an AI-powered security system to be scanned without taking off shoes or belts or emptying pockets.
In this article we will explain the types of problems you can solve using the Azure ML Two-Class (or Binary) and Multi-Class Classification algorithms and help you build a basic model using them. Hi, I'm Scott Davis, a Data Scientist for Valorem Reply and in this post I'm going to show you step-by-step just how easy (no coding required) it is to make a production-ready machine learning model in Azure ML using a private ML model I've created just for this post. Before we can jump in, you'll need: Before we get going it is good to understand that there are A LOT of things you can do with Azure ML. The purpose of this exercise is to get you started quickly with the tool by building a simple model using basic functionality in Azure ML. In future posts we'll dive deeper into the tool and using Data Science concepts to make it work for your business needs.

"Future Fantastic" is a book that discusses 5 transformative technologies, how they will change humanity, and how we will all live in a better world! It is in the final editing stages with an expected release date of Sept.15th, 2019. All these new avenues will be designed with you, our fan base in mind, to communicate with our fans and followers.
I am so thrilled to welcome you to the absolutely awesome world of data science. It is an interesting subject, sometimes difficult, sometimes a struggle but always hugely rewarding at the end of your work. While data science is not as tough as, say, quantum mechanics, it is not high-school algebra either. It requires knowledge of Statistics, some Mathematics (Linear Algebra, Multivariable Calculus, Vector Algebra, and of course Discrete Mathematics), Operations Research (Linear and Non-Linear Optimization and some more topics including Markov Processes), Python, R, Tableau, and basic analytical and logical programming skills. If you are studying the Data Science course at Dimensionless Technologies, you are in the right place.
Slowly but surely, work on self-driving cars is progressing. Crashes still happen, tragic accidents come to pass every once in a while, and autonomous vehicles still make stupid mistakes that that the most novice human drivers would avoid. But eventually, scientists and researchers will teach our cars to see the world and drive the streets on a level that equates or exceeds the skills of most human drivers. Distracted driving and DUI will become a thing of the past. Roads will become safer when humans are removed from behind the steering wheel.
Uber is considering developing self-driving cars that monitor their passengers' vital signs and ask how they feel in order to help ensure a stress-free and satisfying trip. The concept for the bio-metrics monitoring cars was outlined in a patent filed by the transportation firm on July 25, 2019. Uber is already exploring the practical applications of self-driving technology to its transportation fleet -- with the firm presently road-testing automatic taxicabs. Uber is considering developing self-driving cars that monitor their passengers' vital signs and ask how they feel in order to help ensure a stress-free and satisfying trip Uber's concept envisages passengers connecting their own health-monitoring devices -- such as smart watches, Fitbit-style activity trackers and chest strap-worn heart monitors -- to their taxi in order for it to better measure their reactions. The vehicle would then synthesise this information along with measurements taken by the car itself, including those from thermometers, vehicle speed sensors, driving logs, infrared cameras and microphones.
BANGKOK - The launch of facial recognition technology at two Indian airports and plans to place it in police stations have stoked fears over privacy and increased surveillance among human rights groups in the country. The "paperless biometric technology" launched in Bengaluru airport this week identifies passengers by their face, doing away with the need to present boarding passes, passports and other identity documents, according to a statement from the airport in India's tech capital. Another airport in the southern Indian city of Hyderabad is also testing facial recognition technology this month. While airlines, airports and the companies developing the software promise greater security and increased efficiency, some technology analysts and privacy experts say the benefits are not clear, and come at the cost of privacy and greater surveillance. This is particularly true of India, which does not have a data protection law or an electronic surveillance framework, said Vidushi Marda, a lawyer and advisor at human rights group Article 19.
The South Australian Government had recently launched a free autonomous vehicle trial that will deliver a first and last mile service between the Playford Alive Township and the Munno Para Train Station. As reported, the autonomous electric bus will run approximately every half hour on weekdays and will carry passengers from the Munno Para Railway Station to the Playford Alive Township, including stops at Mark Oliphant College and the Stretton Centre. The free autonomous shuttle bus service will include a morning and afternoon service window, with passengers collected from designated pick up points on the route. The Munno Para service is phase two of the Playford Connect autonomous bus trial. It follows phase one, which provided a free park and ride service from the Lionsgate Carpark through to the Lyell McEwin Hospital in Elizabeth Vale from October 2018 to June 2019.
With the rise of Machine Learning inside industries, the need for a tool that can help you iterate through the process quickly has become vital. Python, a rising star in Machine Learning technology, is often the first choice to bring you success. So, a guide to Machine Learning with Python is really necessary. In my experience, Python is one of the easiest programming languages to learn. There is a need to iterate the process quickly, and the data scientist does not need to have a deep knowledge of the language, as they can get the hang of it real quick.
