Naive-Bayes Inference for Testing

#artificialintelligence

Probability is the cornerstone of Artificial Intelligence. The management of uncertainty is key to many applications of AI, such as machine learning, filtering, robotics, computer vision, NLP, search and so on. And no other sector is the management of uncertainty as crucial as it is in the health sector. At first glance, the false-negative seems more devastating. Of course, a false allergy test-result has the likely outcome of a GP administering a drug to you that could cause life-threatening issues.

How I got a Job at Facebook as a Machine Learning Engineer

#artificialintelligence

It was August last year and I was in the process of giving interviews. By that point in time, I was already interviewing for Google India and Amazon India for Machine Learning and Data Science roles respectively. And then my senior advised me to apply for a role in Facebook London. Contacted a recruiter on LinkedIn, who introduced me to another one and my process started after a few days for the role of Machine Learning Engineer. Now Facebook has a pretty different process when it comes to hiring Machine learning engineers. They do coding rounds, system design, and machine learning design interviews to select future employees.

Apple Acquires AI Startup Vilynx to Improve Siri

#artificialintelligence

Apple earlier this year acquired artificial intelligence startup Vilynx with the aim of improving the Siri voice assistant built into Apple devices, reports Bloomberg. The Vilynx website is now defunct, but the company described itself as "AI for media," and it developed tools to help media companies compete against Netflix and other major media giants. Vilynx had a tool that catalogued raw video to make it searchable, providing metadata for video, text, and images. It processed video and then provided relevant content tags. The service also generated rich, motion previews of content offerings, and provided search tools for surfacing content across videos, articles, and images.

'Watch Dogs: Legion' review in progress: Virtual London is legit, but story's a snooze so far

Washington Post - Technology News

For the jailbreak mission, I used the "spy" character, whom I obtained as the reward for "freeing" the Westminster district of propaganda. Just as an aside, the Westminster mission showed the reward as a silhouette of a man with a beret, but the spy turned out to be a middle-aged woman in a sharp blazer armed with a silencer. A fellow reviewer told me he got an older black gentleman in a suit for that same mission, which indicates that even the more specialized characters are randomized. This might be worth keeping in mind for players looking for characters they think might look or dress or move a certain type of way.

A new platform aimed at streamlining clinical trials in order to lower costs – and increase the efficiency and success rate of a drug or the development of a medical device – has been unveiled by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU).The yet-to-be-named programme reportedly "leverages machine learning to optimise a clinical trial's chances of success" through the analysis of factors including patient population recruitment and dropout rate, and the identification of monitored markers. In turn, the platform provides pre-trial recommendations, in-trial interim analysis, and post-trial insights for "next trial preparation, as well as potential salvage options in case of failure," the Israeli public research university said in a statement. HIMSS20 Digital Learn on-demand, earn credit, find products and solutions. Panacea, a new company founded by BGN Technologies – the technology transfer company of the university – is licensing the technology for development and commercialisation. It is said to have been already used in the clinical studies of various neurodegenerative disorders, including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease.
