What is Data Analytics and Why it Matters? - BlockDelta

#artificialintelligence

History and Evolution of Data Analytics: The concept of'Big Data' has been around for decades. Many organizations now understand that, if they capture all the data sets that streams into their businesses, they could apply analytics to get significant insights and value from the data. Even in the 1950s, decades before anyone even uttered the term "Big Data," the businesses were using analytics – especially numbers in an excel sheet which were analyzed manually to gain insights and trends. The companies used this information for future decisions. Whereas, today, the business can identify insights for immediate action as the new benefits which the big data analytics brings are efficiency and speed.

10 Ways AI And Machine Learning Are Improving Endpoint Security 7wData

Gartner predicts $137.4B will be spent on Information Security and Risk Management in 2019, increasing to $175.5B in 2023, reaching a CAGR of 9.1%. Cloud Security, Data Security, and Infrastructure Protection are the fastest-growing areas of security spending through 2023. Spending on AI-based cybersecurity systems and services reached $7.1B in 2018 and is predicted to reach $30.9B in 2025, attaining a CAGR of 23.4% in the forecast period according to Zion Market Research. Traditional approaches to securing endpoints based on the hardware characteristics of a given device aren't stopping breach attempts today. Bad actors are using AI and Machine Learning to launch sophisticated attacks to shorten the time it takes to compromise an endpoint and successfully breach systems.

24 Evaluation Metrics for Binary Classification (And When to Use Them)

#artificialintelligence

In order to get one number that tells us how good our curve is, we can calculate the Area Under the ROC Curve, or ROC AUC score. The more top-left your curve is the higher the area and hence higher ROC AUC score. Alternatively, it can be shown that ROC AUC score is equivalent to calculating the rank correlation between predictions and targets. From an interpretation standpoint, it is more useful because it tells us that this metric shows how good at ranking predictions your model is. It tells you what is the probability that a randomly chosen positive instance is ranked higher than a randomly chosen negative instance.

Privacy-focused, rewarded ads browser Brave tops 10M monthly active users - Search Engine Land

#artificialintelligence

Brave said it has seen a surge in user adoption since releasing version 1.0 of the privacy-centric browser on November 13, 2019. Monthly active users (MAU) have doubled in a year to 10.4 million as of the end of last month. Daily active users of the browser created by Mozilla founder Brendan Eich have tripled in the last year to 3.3 million, the company said Friday. Brave Ads are structured to serve only to users that opt-in to the Brave Rewards program and agree to see ads. Users can then accumulate Brave's Basic Attention Token (BAT), which is a blockchain-based system.

Axiomtek has released the AIE500-901-FL, an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) embedded system for edge AI computing and deep learning applications. The device supports two CAN or two COM interfaces. The embedded system employs an Nvidia Jetson TX2 module which has a 64-bit ARM A57 processor; Nvidia Pascal GPU with 256 CUDA cores; and 8 GiB of 128-bit LPDDR4 memory. To withstand the rigors of day-to-day operation, the product has an operating temperature range of -30 C to 60 C and vibration of up to 3 Grms with its construction. According to the company, this fanless AI edge system is dedicated to achieving smart manufacturing and intelligent edge applications.

This Security Camera for Hackers Has Built-In TensorFlow AI Recognition

#artificialintelligence

Home security cameras are growing in popularity, particularly with the release of products like the Nest Cam. That's partly because cameras and cloud video storage are now affordable enough to be practical for home use, and partly because they're smart enough to be useful. The Nest Cam, for example, can recognize humans and notify you if someone is in your home, giving you time to call the police before they steal everything. The new TensorCam is a security camera with built-in artificial intelligence that has been designed specifically for hackers and developers.

Deep Neural Networks, Big Data, AI, and the Road to Autonomous Systems - DATAVERSITY

Earlier this year Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the future is now. By the middle of 2020, he said at an event for investors, Tesla's autonomous system will have improved to the point where drivers will not have to pay attention to the road. He revealed that Tesla has plans to roll out Level 5 autonomous taxis next year in some parts of the United States, which means they will be capable of driving themselves anywhere on the planet, under all possible conditions, with no limitations. That's compelling, but is it really possible within such a short timeframe? In May, a month after Musk's speech, Consumer Reports said that the new lane-changing feature on Tesla's updated Navigate on Autopilot software lags far behind a human driver's skills.

This weird roleplaying AI makes a great dungeon master

#artificialintelligence

When AI development firm OpenAI released its GPT-2 algorithm, it warned that the tech was capable of flooding the internet with fake news and propaganda. What it didn't predict, however, is that the algorithm can also make a pretty effective dungeon master. AI Dungeon 2 (playable here) uses the full-sized GPT-2 algorithm to bring players through a text adventure-style game that it writes in real-time based on the player's prompts and commands. The game isn't perfect -- in my playing, it for some reason decided to name every single character "Dan" -- but it's fascinating all the same to let a powerful AI system take the wheel and steer the game's journey. AI Dungeon 2 is a far cry from the first version of the game, which creator and Northwestern University grad student Nathan Whitmore built around a substantially weaker version of GPT-2.

You can do nearly anything you want in this incredible AI-powered game

#artificialintelligence

Yes, you read that right. Where all games are limited by what developers program, this game uses OpenAI to create infinitely generated worlds that are only limited by your imagination. If that sounds lofty, well, give it a try. I promise that you'll be amused. AI Dungeon 2 gives you a few different settings and roles that you can adopt, but from there, it pretty much lets you run wild.
