Tuning XGBoost Hyperparameters with Scikit Optimize

Before we get into code and muddy our hands, let us hold here for a minute and ask ourselves- if we were a computer and had been given the same problem, how would we do it? I'll assume we have only two hyperparameter values in this situation because it makes it easier to visualize. The first thing I am going to do is built a model with any random values for our two hyperparameters and see how my model performed. The next thing I would do is increase one parameter and keep one stationary just to see how my model performance responds to an increase in one of these parameters. If my model performance increases, that means I am moving my hyperparameter in the right direction.


Lingang autonomous vehicle testing center opens - SHINE News

The Shanghai Lingang Autonomous and Informationalized Vehicle Integrative Testing and Demonstration Zone opened on Friday. It is the first project opened after Lingang expanded Shanghai's FTZ. So far, the testing and demonstration zone has built 26.1 kilometers of road for open air testing, 3 square kilometers of space for tunnel testing and a data center. Gu Changshi from the Lingang Special Area said compared with other driverless vehicle testing areas, Lingang has better road conditions and more space which allows more simulations to be tested. More than 10 companies focusing on autos and artificial intelligence have set up research centers and plants in the zone.


Huawei launches A.I. chip as it looks to defy US pressure, pitting it against giants like Nvidia

Huawei announced the commercial availability of an artificial intelligence (AI) chip Friday, pitting it against major American giants like Qualcomm and Nvidia, as it looks to defy continued U.S. pressure and prove it can still bring out core technology. The chip, called the Ascend 910, was first unveiled in October last year and is aimed at data centers. Companies using AI applications require huge amounts of data to train smart algorithms, which can take several days or weeks. Huawei claims that its chip can process more data in a faster amount of time than its competitors and help train networks in a matter of minutes. "We have been making steady progress since we announced our AI strategy in October last year," Eric Xu, one of Huawei's rotating chairmen, said in a press release.
