This article is inspired by a lecture I taught during the University Open Air September 2020 semester. The program was organized by a team of great people at Brooklyn Public Library. Humans have been…

Standing Ai (Artificial intelligence) - A brief history - Diginixai

#artificialintelligence

Thirty years ago, everybody was thinking about flying cars. Do we have flying cars now?? of course not! But we have something better. AI, wheel of our times, it will change the world as the invention of wheel did in the stone age. The term'artificial intelligence' was given by John Mccarthy way back in the 50's, but the journey of understanding the process took more than half of a century.

Debunking the Myths in Artificial Intelligence! - Africa Data School

AI will take your job, AI can sort out even the messiest data, AI will take over the world, AI is new. AI has been touted in the recent past, with it comes myths that often lead to misunderstanding of the technology. Eliezer Yudkowsk says that "By far the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it." In this article, we take a look at the top myths about Artificial intelligence we get to see what is true and what is not. "understanding is much deeper than knowledge there are very many people who know artificial intelligence but very few understand AI" AI dates back to the 19th century when an English mathematician and writer, Lady Ada Lovelace predicted that "a machine might compose elaborate and scientific pieces of music of any degree of complexity or extent" this was later advanced in the 1940s when a Bombe machine was created by Alan Turing.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is Over Mature to do Underage Things

#artificialintelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the future. But can we call the future dumb? Some possibilities could drive us to such a situation. AI is designed to make human jobs easy and the technology is trying its best to restrain the position. However, what it fails to comply with are the basic human activities that we find very easy. Everyone has seen AI beating the world champion in the board game Go, the quiz game Jeopardy, the card game Poker and the video game Dota 2. AI has come a long to what it is today.

The world of Artificial Intelligence

#artificialintelligence

Humans are the most advanced form of Artificial Intelligence (AI), with an ability to reproduce. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a theory but is part of our everyday life. Services like TikTok, Netflix, YouTube, Uber, Google Home Mini, and Amazon Echo are just a few instances of AI in our daily life. This field of knowledge always attracted me in strange ways. I have been an avid reader and I read a variety of subjects of non-fiction nature. I love to watch movies – not particularly sci-fi, but I liked Innerspace, Flubber, Robocop, Terminator, Avatar, Ex Machina, and Chappie. When I think of Artificial Intelligence, I see it from a lay perspective. I do not have an IT background.

A Brief History of Artificial Intelligence

#artificialintelligence

The history of Artificial Intelligence (AI) began in antiquity, with myths, stories and rumors of artificial beings endowed with intelligence or consciousness by master craftsmen. The seeds of modern AI were planted by classical philosophers who attempted to describe the process of human thinking as the mechanical manipulation of symbols. This work culminated in the invention of the programmable digital computer in the 1940s, a machine based on the abstract essence of mathematical reasoning. This device and the ideas behind it inspired a handful of scientists to begin seriously discussing the possibility of building an electronic brain. The field of AI research was founded at a workshop held on the campus of Dartmouth College during the summer of 1956.Those who attended would become the leaders of AI research for decades.

Advantages and Disadvantage of Artificial Intelligence - GeeksforGeeks

#artificialintelligence

Artificial intelligence refers to the simulation of human intelligence in a machine that is programmed to think like humans. The idea of artificial intelligence initially begins by the computer scientist from 1943 to 1956. A model proposed by Alan Turing which is known as the Turing test. A Turing test is an algorithm that computes the data similar to human nature and behavior for proper response. Since this Turing test proposed by Alan Turing which plays one of the most important roles in the development of artificial intelligence, So Alan Turing is known as the father of artificial intelligence.

How AI Could Become Sentient

I propose to consider the question, 'Can machines think?' - Alan Turing, Computing Machinery and Intelligence, 1950. No one really knows, but everyone agrees humans do it, so let's start with the human brain as a model. Your brain consists of billions of neurons, arranged in delicate patterns to coordinate thought, emotion, behavior, and movement. Each neuron is connected with other neurons by synapses, and when something new is learned, a new neuron is created. Electrical signals between the neurons allows them to'communicate', or transfer information.

How Artificial Intelligence Will Guide the Future of Agriculture

#artificialintelligence

New automated harvesters like the Harvest CROO Robotics strawberry robot utilizes AI to capture images of ripe berries ready to pick. Artificial intelligence, or AI as it is more commonly called, has become more prominent in conversations about technology these days. But what does it mean? And how might it shape the future of agriculture? In many ways, AI is already at work in agricultural research and in-field applications, but there is much more to come.
