why-is-machine-learning-important

#artificialintelligence

Machine learning can be considered a component of artificial intelligence and involves training the machine to be more intelligent in its operations. AI technology focuses on incorporating human intelligence while machine learning is focused on making the machines learn faster. So we can say that machine learning engineers can provide faster and better optimizations to AI solutions. AI technology has had a massive impact on society and has transformed almost every industrial sector from planning to production. Thus machine learning engineers and experts are also of great value to this growing industry.

AI is a subfield of computer science that enables machines to imitate human thought, decision-making, and behavior. According to massive data sets, these technologies learn and adapt, allowing them to make insights, forecasts, and recommendations. This technology has been gradually introduced into several aspects of our everyday life, including internet chatbots, facial recognition software, and self-driving cars. The potential for AI in sales is huge, but yet to be fully unlocked. It can be used by businesses to improve lead volume, closing rate, and revenue performance by helping automate much of the process.

We can expect many new initiatives in the next five years that will transform our lives. Here are the top technology trends that we expect to see in the coming years. We've been studying a lot about the software design of Metaverse, and how the new Facebook initiative might look in a few years. Although it's not yet possible to live in Metaverse, we believe it will be possible in five years. The Metaverse is currently where the World Wide Web was in the mid-90s.

The availability of vast data sources and advanced machine learning technologies has given rise to a new system of influence known as influence engineering. It can guide user behavior and lead to new customer acquisition. Using computer vision and pattern analysis techniques, companies can now recognize user emotions using emotion detection techniques (generally called emotion AI) to direct their decision-making process. Also, the advancements in emotion detection and natural language processing techniques present a significant opportunity to automate influential aspects of consumer communication and digital marketing. In fact, in 2021, Gartner named influence engineering as one of the six emerging technologies expected to drive growth for digital marketing.

The World Artificial Intelligence Conference, or WAIC, will open in Shanghai tomorrow. The World Artificial Intelligence Conference, or WAIC, China's top AI event, will open on Thursday, with leading business executives participating and new tech innovations and products making debut. As the first batch of restarted exhibitions and conferences in Shanghai following the lift of the city's COVID-19 lockdown in June, the three-day WAIC 2022 will see strict pandemic prevention measures in place. As a result, many events will be held online with metaverse innovations. Scientists and business executives, including Huawei's rotating chairman Ken Hu and Qualcomm president and CEO Cristiano Amon, will attend the opening session tomorrow morning.

The joint availability of computational power and huge datasets has considerably changed the landscape of Artificial Intelligence. In many fields, applications (self-driving cars, cybersecurity, e-health…) that seemed out of reach in the past are now closer to becoming a reality. Recent advances in Machine Learning, the key component of AI, show the growing maturity of algorithms that are now able to handle an increasing number of new tasks. However, simple adversarial attacks can still easily defeat a learning algorithm and the potentially massive deployment of AI tools in various environments raises many new concerns. Additionally to scalability and versatility of algorithms, awareness of drifting or fake data, privacy, interpretability, accountability are now all features that a learning and decision system should take into account.

CMU School of Computer Science

When Waymo opens its office in Pittsburgh, it will do so partly with the team and expertise of a Carnegie Mellon University spinoff company. Waymo announced last month it would open an engineering office in Pittsburgh and bring on board RobotWits, a robotics company focusing on autonomous vehicles that was founded by Maxim Likhachev, an associate professor in the School of Computer Science's Robotics Institute. "Pittsburgh is one of the main hubs for autonomous driving technology development in the U.S.," said Tushar Chandra, head of Waymo's Behavior team, noting the city's top academic institutions and long history of autonomous vehicle innovation. "You can see why we'd be excited about Pittsburgh's engineering and technology talent and world-class expertise in robotics." Waymo was Google's self-driving car project before it branched off as an independent company in 2016.

100m luxury eco-yacht Seataci featuring a tropical garden unveiled by Charles Bombardier

Daily Mail - Science & tech

A futuristic new concept that's inspired by whale tails could change the way we travel through water. At the moment, almost all vessels capable of travelling great distances do so with the help of enormous propellers that provide the driving force. However, the Seataci, a 100million ( 77million) luxury yacht envisioned by Montreal-based engineer Charles Bombardier, is designed to travel with the help of a wave motion - just like the way whales do. In his column for Wired, Bombardier explained that the Seataci would use an eco-friendly system that could be more efficient than traditional systems and allow the vessel to travel through shallow waters and with minimal noise. Like all yachts, the Seataci has a main hull, where the bulk of the ship's features will reside.

'Chinese startup' vows autonomous car by 2020 in US

Daily Mail - Science & tech

A'global startup' which makes electric racing vehicles unveiled plans Friday to sell a fully autonomous electric car in the US market by 2020. The company called Nio, founded by Chinese entrepreneur William Li and with offices in Silicon Valley, Europe and China, unveiled a prototype of the vehicle called Eve at the South by Southwest tech conference in Austin, Texas. According to a Nio statement, the car will be'a digital companion, a robot on wheels' equipped with'an artificial intelligence engine with an intuitive human interface, providing verbal and visual connections both within the vehicle and with the outside world.' The new design is more like a living room on wheels than a car. The forward two seats have an'enhanced panoramic view', with digital displays provided on the active glass when needed to support non-autonomous driving EVE has no door pillars, and interior is accessed through a wide forward-sliding door.
