You may have heard the news of ChatGPT fooling professors. Recently, it bamboozled scientists with convincing AI papers. The reports came from a preprint from the scientific bioRxiv server in December 2022. Researchers asked ChatGPT to create 50 abstracts based on several scientific sources. They found that medical researchers struggled to distinguish the fakes from the originals.

It's been almost three years since GPT-3 was introduced, back in May 2020. Since then, the AI text-generation model has garnered a lot of interest for its ability to create text that looks and sounds like it was written by a human. Now it's looking like the next iteration of the software, GPT-4, is just around the corner, with an estimated release date of sometime in early 2023. Despite the highly anticipated nature of this AI news, the exact details on GPT-4 have been pretty sketchy. OpenAI, the company behind GPT-4, has not publicly disclosed much information on the new model, such as its features or its abilities. Nevertheless, recent advances in the field of AI, particularly regarding Natural Language Processing (NLP), may offer some clues on what we can expect from GPT-4.

Trends show that artificial intelligence (AI) will be a major topic in 2023, as data indicates a surge in interest. Since interest peaked and Microsoft invested billions into Chatgpt, demand for AI-focused cryptocurrency projects has risen dramatically. For example, the crypto project Fetch.ai has seen its native token FET rise 212% in the past 30 days, and another AI project, Singularitynet, has seen it's token AGIX increase 293% against the U.S. dollar. During the week of Jan. 22-28, 2023, the worldwide Google Trends score for the term "AI" was 94 out of 100. In the first week of Dec. 2022, the search term reached its highest Google Trends score of 100.

What-Can-chat-GPT-Do-Unleashing-the-Power-of-GPT

What Can Chat GPT Do? Do you want to know what Chat GPT can do? Chat GPT, short for Generative Pre-trained Transformer, is OpenAI's cutting-edge AI for understanding natural language. By anticipating the next word in a sequence based on the context of the words that came before it, it may generate language that is eerily similar to that produced by humans. However, what precisely is Chat GPT's purpose? Text creation is a key feature of Chat GPT.

First provide a summary of the paper, and then address the following criteria: Quality, clarity, originality and significance. This paper presents an approach to exploit the local similarity structure for zero-shot or a few-shot problem. The idea is to not only use mid-level representation such as attributes which help in zero-shot problem but also ensure that the unlabeled data is labeled such that similar images receive similar label. Overall, I like the direction of the paper. I think exploiting graph structure is an interesting idea which hasn't been looked into the zero-shot problem (as far as I know).

ai-training-costs-continue-to-plummet

High AI training costs have been a significant barrier to AI adoption, preventing many companies from implementing AI technology. According to a 2017 Forrester Consulting Report, 48% of companies highlighted high technology costs as one of the primary reasons for not implementing AI-driven solutions. However, recent developments have shown that AI training costs are rapidly declining, and this trend is expected to continue in the future. According to the ARK Invest Big Ideas 2023 report, training costs of a large language model similar to GPT-3 level performance have plummeted from $4.6 million in 2020 to $450,000 in 2022, a decline of 70% per year. Let's explore this trend of declining AI training costs further and discuss the factors contributing to this decline.

AI's tantalizing promise – and its missteps – are more apparent than ever, as OpenAI's ChatGPT makes headlines for its ability to cheat on college exams or conduct an imposter job interview. But, for anyone who feels inclined to dismiss AI's potential, I would urge caution. Bill Gates called recent developments in AI "every bit as important" as the emergence of the internet – a statement that should draw the attention of innovators across every discipline. In the field of healthcare, our relationship with AI has had a mixture of successes and setbacks, particularly in applications for diagnostics. To maximize our successes and realize the potential of AI, we must make a distinction between "artificial intelligence" and "augmented intelligence" to deliver meaningful change to our healthcare system.
