The Virginian-Pilot says investigators believe a type of DNA testing called phenotyping could feasibly help them catch the killer of Roberta Walls. She was 22 in 1986 when her battered body was found behind a school.

Police said in a news release Tuesday that Officer Jax Rutledge is charged with misdemeanor domestic battery and criminal deprivation of property. The Wichita Eagle reports that court documents say she clashed with her stepson and his girlfriend when they came to pick up belongings while moving out.

An 87-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman's body was found at a care home. Police were called to Chapman Way in Eynesbury in Cambridgeshire after "serious concerns" were raised for the welfare of a man and a woman at 17:00 on Monday. Officers are currently investigating what happened at Poppyfields care home. The arrested man is being held at Parkside police station.

Ocean County prosecutors say a Jackson Township officer saw 22-year-old Anthony Griffin go through a red light around 10:20 p.m. Thursday. The officer turned on his overhead lights and tried to stop Griffin, but authorities say Griffin instead "accelerated at a high rate of speed" before the crash occurred about 10 seconds later.

Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley says officers were called to the man's home June 26 for a welfare check. Officers Kyle Crosson and Guido Marchionda were at the scene, but prosecutors say they did not fire their weapons.
