This article is a follow-up to my list of best data science undergraduate courses. While AI and data science make up part of most computer science undergrad degrees, it's at a post-grad level where students can really start to develop expertise. Some of the world's best tech-led colleges and universities offer specialized Master's Degree courses in these subjects, and often they are also world leaders in research, partnered with Silicon Valley businesses on cutting-edge projects. Studying data science and AI at this level will mark you out to employers as someone whose technical expertise is likely to exceed that of candidates who only have a computer science bachelor's degree. It might also be a step towards a Ph.D.
With artificial intelligence and analytics being the talk of the hour, there cannot be a better time to get started with these technologies. COVID pandemic outbreak has further increased the demand for data scientists thus learning data science skills, in the current situation, can present high employment chances. Till now, the field of data science and AI has been a preferred choice for postgraduate programs; however, the increasing demand for data professionals is making it imperative for students to start early. And that's where an undergraduate AI and data science course can help. Now that the results for Class XII board exams are out, this could be the perfect chance for the pass out students to build a career in the most demanding profession of the world.
Successful Student has compiled the 25 Best Artificial Intelligence Colleges in the United States. Artificial Intelligence (AI), also known as machine learning, is a discipline within computer science. Artificial Intelligence is usually conceived of as doing more than just computing numbers (such as a calculator), but is more conceptual in nature (such as describing subjective qualities, or giving meanings to different contexts). An example of AI would be speech recognition and communicating, such as Apple's Siri, or Amazon's Alexa. Amazon has announced three new AI tools for anyone wanting to build apps on Amazon Web Services: Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly, and Amazon Rekognition. According to Amazon "This frees developers to focus on defining and building an entirely new generation of apps that can see, hear, speak, understand, and interact with the world around them." For those interested in developing apps, see our 20 Best App Development Colleges article. Google, Facebook, Amazon, Apple and Microsoft are all working on AI. Facebook's FAIR (Facebook Artificial Intelligence Research) program engages with academia to assist in solving long term problems in AI. Facebook is hiring AI experts around the world to assist in their project.
Carnegie Mellon University's School of Computer Science will offer a new undergraduate degree in artificial intelligence beginning this fall, providing students with in-depth knowledge of how to transform large amounts of data into actionable decisions. SCS has created the new AI degree, the first offered by a U.S. university, in response to extraordinary technical breakthroughs in AI and the growing demand by students and employers for training that prepares people for careers in AI. "Specialists in artificial intelligence have never been more important, in shorter supply or in greater demand by employers," said Andrew Moore, dean of the School of Computer Science. "Carnegie Mellon has an unmatched depth of expertise in AI, making us uniquely qualified to address this need for graduates who understand how the power of AI can be leveraged to help people." This spring, U.S. News and World Report ranked SCS as the No. 1 graduate school for artificial intelligence. The bachelor's degree program in computer science teaches students to think broadly about methods that can accomplish a wide variety of tasks across many disciplines, said Reid Simmons, research professor of robotics and computer science and director of the new AI degree program.
In spite of the fact that the idea of Artificial Intelligence has been around for a long time, it is just in the most recent years that it has gotten on the tech charts and is trending in each and every industry conceivable. Getting to be noticeably extraordinary compared to other cherished techs among the ingenious minds all over the world, Artificial Intelligence demands a mix of computer science, mathematics, cognitive psychology, and engineering. There is no doubt about that soon the demand for experts prepared in Artificial Intelligence would beat supply. In spite of the fact that there is some overlap of Artificial Intelligence with analytics, a capable Artificial Intelligence expert would have profound knowledge on spheres like computer vision, natural language processing, robotics automation, and machine learning. Artificial Intelligence education is still in its youthful days.
