Last week, the camera benchmark team from DxOMark proclaimed the iPhone 8 Plus the best smartphone camera it has ever tested. This week, the team has given the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 the same quality rating. Both devices have the highest ever DxOMark rating of 94. The iPhone 8 Plus is likely ahead of the Galaxy Note 8 on the list, only because the list is in alphabetical order. DxOMark published its Galaxy Note 8 camera review Tuesday, highlighting the device's zoom capability among its top features.


Smartphone Camera Comparison: Huawei P10 And 9 Best Lenses By DxOMark Rating

New reports indicate that the Huawei P10 is the latest smartphone to get top marks on the DxOMark benchmark for mobile camera quality. With a score of 87, the Huawei P10 is the fifth best smartphone camera on the market, ahead of some admirable contenders, including devices by Sony, Samsung, HTC and Google. The DxOMark testing process takes into account several aspects of image capturing, such as flash, noise, color, autofocus, texture and artifact, among others. The Google Pixel has an 89 rating on DxOMark. The device features a 12.3-megapixel rear camera with 1.55µm pixels, f/2.0 aperture, phase detection, laser autofocus and dual-LED flash.


iPhone 8 Plus loses its camera crown: One-lens Pixel 2 snatches it with record score

DxOMark testing finds the Pixel 2 features very good color rendering. The iPhone 8 Plus' brief reign over the smartphone camera world is over, according to mobile camera-testing outfit DxOMark. The iPhone 8 Plus may have set a new standard for smartphone cameras in DxOMark's tests last month, but now the one to beat is the single-lens Pixel 2. The Google phone got an overall score or 98, topping the dual-lens iPhone 8 Plus' and Galaxy Note 8's 94. The first Pixel attained a score 90 and was the top camera phone until the iPhone 8 Plus arrived. Despite the new top score, if you love zoom and natural-looking blurry Bokeh backgrounds, the better choice is the still dual lens iPhone 8 Plus or Samsung's Note 8.


Google Pixel 2 Tops DxOMark Smartphone Camera List

The Pixel 2 is now the highest rated smartphone camera on the market, according to DxOMark. The device beats out the iPhone 8 Plus by about one week and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 by just one day. DxOMark has given the Pixel 2 a rating of 98, while the iPhone 8 Plus and Galaxy Note 8 are rated at 94. Google introduced the Pixel smartphone like in 2016 and at that time, the Pixel had the DxOMark rating of 90. Since then several smartphones have released vying for the number one spot. Other devices to top the list include the iPhone 8, with a rating of 92 and the HTC U11, which also has a rating of 90.
