"We will have lenses for [a] 3-D sensing [module used in smartphone] ready to ship in the second half this year," CEO Adam Lin told a press conference. A Barclays analyst said in a research note the iPhone 8 will come with a faster USB-C connector, MacRumors reported. Analyst Blayne Curtis said the 10th anniversary iPhone will come with a 10W power adapter with USB-C connector and an integrated USB-C Power Delivery chip. Cypress Semiconductor will supply Apple with USB-C Power Delivery chips. The analyst suggested the chips in the upcoming iPhone will be the same one used in the recent 10.5-inch iPad Pro. The iPhone 8 would be able to charge quickly with a USB-C to Lightning Cable connected to the 10W power adapter or with the 29W USB-C power adapter that works for MacBooks.

Samsung, which is said to be the OLED display supplier for Apple, will operate seven OLED production lines at "full scale" this month for the 10th anniversary iPhone, according to ETNews (via Apple Insider). This appears to put some of the iPhone 8 release date delay rumors on hold. The iPhone 8, which is expected to be released this fall, is rumored to come with a bezel-less OLED screen. To meet Apple's demands, Samsung's production capacity for the screens spiked from 30,000 to 45,000 panels per month last year to 105,000 on Friday.
