What appears to be a copper color variant of the iPhone 8 has been leaked online. While the images strongly suggest a new color option for Apple's 10th anniversary iPhone, there's still no guarantee that the iOS 11-running handset would debut in a copper color. This Monday, My Drivers outed on Chinese social media site Weibo a set of photos showing non-functional models of the upcoming iPhone 8. Drawing attention to the images is the model for what seems to be copper or copper gold color variant of the Galaxy S8 rival. It's hard to tell if the leaked photos are those of legitimate iPhone 8 units or simply mockups of the smartphone. However, Apple Insider believes that what's shown in the pictures could be models from a clone factory.
There's now more reason to believe a previous leak claiming that Apple's iPhone 8 will be debuting with a new color option. Apparently, someone from Foxconn may have outed the official name of the new color variant, and it's not the same as what earlier reports claimed it to be. Over the weekend, mobile reporter Benjamin Geskin took to Twitter to share what he found out from a Foxconn insider about the upcoming Galaxy S8/Note 8 rival. In his tweet, he stated that the third color option for the iPhone 8 is known internally at Foxconn as "Blush Gold." Geskin included renders to show everyone how the new variant looks like.
Samsung Electronics is expanding its Galaxy S9 series. The South Korea giant has introduced not just one, but two new color options for the S9 and the S9 flagship smartphones. The biggest rival of Apple in the smartphone industry introduced Wednesday via its online newsroom the Sunrise Gold and Burgundy Red editions of the Galaxy S9 and S9 handsets. The new color options are joining the four models that are already available worldwide, namely, Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple. In its press release, Samsung stated that the Burgundy Red Galaxy S9 and S9 are hitting the South Korean and Chinese markets in May.
It seems Apple could be launching the highly anticipated gold color variant of the iPhone X soon. An FCC filing made by the Cupertino giant strongly hints at an iPhone X with a gold back similar to the gold variants of the iPhone 8 and 8 plus. MacRumors recently stumbled upon documents that Apple filed with the United States Federal Communications Commission, containing information on a gold iPhone X handset. The documents, per the news outlet, were originally filed in September of 2017 and they present details and photos of a gold iPhone X. Based on the leaked images of the possible third color option of the iPhone X, the shade of gold it has is very similar to the one found on the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus.
It has long been rumored that Apple will ditch the Space Gray color option in favor of a darker shade for its upcoming iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Ahead of the smartphones' public reveal, the modified color variant has made an appearance in a photo leaked by a casemaker. The leaked photo comes from casemaker MobileFun who even claimed that the Space Gray color option may have been replaced with a blue one. However, Apple Insider strongly suggested that though the snap may show a blue iPhone 7, the shade of the new Space Gray variant may only look blue in the photo due to the lighting conditions at the time the picture was taken. GSM Arena also picked up the same leaked photo and reported that it does portray a more tamed blue tint, but the tech site was quick to counter that using blue paint for the new iPhones is unlikely since it is prone to chipping.
