The Future of AI Part 3

#artificialintelligence

This article will focus on the impact of AI, 5G, Edge Computing on the healthcare sector in the 2020s as well as a section on Quantum Computing's potential impact on AI, healthcare and financial services. The next in the series will deal with how we can use AI in the fight against climate change including the protection of the Amazon, smart cities and AGI. For those who are new to AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, I recommend taking a look at the following article entitled "An Introduction to AI." I will refer to Machine Learning and Deep Learning as being subsets of AI. Furthermore, this article is non-exhaustive in relation to potential applications of AI to healthcare and Quantum Computing to various sectors of the economy. The reason for the focus on AI in healthcare is in light of recent articles by a few senior medical practitioners in the US expressing concern about the role of AI in healthcare. Some of the concerns expressed such as the need for improved sharing of data ...

For those who are new to AI, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning, I recommend taking a look at the following article entitled "An Introduction to AI." I will refer to Machine Learning and Deep Learning as being subsets of AI. Some of the concerns expressed, such as the need for improved sharing of data by healthcare participants including hospitals and ensuring the highest quality in the preparation of data, are entirely valid and I take the view that the need for access to data and sharing of data by hospitals may need to become a matter of political and regulatory concern.

How emerging technology is re-inventing the medical profession

#artificialintelligence

Healthcare is undoubtedly one of the most crucial sectors for any nation, and obviously a matter for governmental and the private sector's focus. The healthcare system is tasked to ensure that society stays healthy at a reasonable expense. The way healthcare organisations are managed impacts the professional growth and satisfaction of doctors, nurses, counsellors and other healthcare professionals. Yet healthcare is often under resourced; can innovations within the industry reduce costs and improve outcomes? Emerging technology is completely transforming the business models of hospitals and health providers, changing the work of care professionals forever.

Economics of AI, Design Thinking, and Data Science for Smart Healthcare

Health systems are multi- faceted and continually changing across a variety of contexts and health service levels. For example one of the critical challenges of the resource deficient public health infrastructures worldwide is the spread of the communicable diseases. As seen during the outbreaks of the fatal communicable diseases like Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2003, H1N1 in 2009, the Zika virus in 2016, Ebola and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) in 2014, and the Nipah virus in 2018, infectious diseases can spread rapidly within the countries as well as across the national borders. Artificial intelligence (AI) has been making its way into the healthcare sector, presenting a variety of possibilities in disease diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. The adoption of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector is growing substantially.
