Tencent to offer insurance on WeChat in H2 2017


What you can find in the "9 cell grid" of WeChat Wallet interface are the highly valued self-owned and third party services. The already crowded "9 grid" is having a new addition. Previously, reported that Tencent will be providing insurance products on WeChat's Wallet in the latter half of the year. Taiwan's second largest financial company, Fubon Financial Holding, has struck an agreement with Tencent to provide the above-mentioned insurance products with its subsidiary in China, Fubon Insurance. According to an internal staff from Tencent, they are currently applying for licenses from the relevant regulatory authority, and the launch of the said insurance products have been delayed due to the wait for the licenses.

Partners Launch Artificial Intelligence Healthcare Guidance Platform


Carmel-based MJ Insurance, one of the nation's largest privately-held insurance agencies, has partnered with Chicago-based HealthJoy, a healthcare guidance platform that helps employees make informed healthcare decisions and provides a variety of cost containment strategies to help lower employer healthcare costs. Together, the partners will be offering an artificial intelligence guidance system to healthcare coverage seekers. HealthJoy advances current telemedicine offerings by providing an artificial intelligence virtual assistant along with a team of live doctors and healthcare professionals to help employees navigate the complexities of the healthcare system and decisions surrounding their employer-sponsored health plans. Unlike other health engagement apps, HealthJoy offers a direct line of communication between the employer and the user by connecting directly to the employee's smartphone device. HealthJoy integrates with any employer benefit plan and has shown a positive ROI for companies within 90 days.

Insurance overhaul a positive


The legislation is a solid step toward reducing Michigan's highest-in-the-nation auto insurance premiums. Critics of the measure mourn the loss of required unlimited lifetime benefits for personal injuries sustained in traffic crashes. But the change will leave more cash in the pockets of Michigan consumers for things like rent and food. The measure ends the 1973 state mandate that auto insurance policies cover all medical costs, forever, for car crashes. That mandate is blamed for Michigan's high insurance premiums, the highest in the nation each of the last five years.
