Cardinals QB Palmer to Ease Way up on Offseason Throwing

U.S. News

Arizona Cardinals NFL football quarterback Carson Palmer (3) and Blaine Gabbert (7) run drills during a voluntary team workout, Tuesday, May 16, 2017, in Tempe, Ariz. The Arizona Cardinals have five quarterbacks on their roster. One big reason is a concerted effort to prevent Carson Palmer from doing much of anything in the offseason to preserve the arm strength of the 37-year-old quarterback.

London streets go quiet to remember PC Palmer

On Monday afternoon, streets in south London came to a standstill to remember PC Keith Palmer, the police officer killed in the Westminster attack. Traffic stopped along the route of his funeral cortege - from Westminster to Southwark - and restaurants and cafes emptied with the peaceful conformity that hundreds of police officers can summon. Hundreds of people quietly gathered at the roadside hours before the coffin arrived. Among them, a former officer who spoke of the huge sense of pride he felt for what he called the "police family". And this family was out in force on Monday.

Carson Palmer says Jared Goff can learn much by not playing right away

Carson Palmer was the No. 1 pick in the 2003 NFL draft out of USC, so the Arizona Cardinals quarterback knows something about what Rams rookie Jared Goff is experiencing. Palmer did not play his entire rookie season before he became the starter in 2004. While rookies such as Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott are starting, Goff, the No. 1 pick in the draft, has not played. He is the backup for veteran Case Keenum, who has helped lead the Rams to a 2-1 record that puts them at the top of the NFL West heading into Sunday's division game at Arizona. "There's such a fine line between throwing a guy in there, making him play ... and he knows he's going to go in and struggle because the team's not good like some guys have been," Palmer said Wednesday during a conference call.
