Dryness Prompts New Mexico Forests to Impose Restrictions

On the Cibola National Forest, officials will be imposing tougher restrictions over the next several days to reduce the risk of human-caused fires. Those restrictions will prohibit all campfires as well as the use of charcoal, coal or wood stoves.

Warnings, Transportation Restrictions Issued as Snow Nears

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike announced restrictions on commercial vehicles, including a full commercial ban including buses on interstates 78 and 80 from I-81 to the New Jersey line and on a number of other roadways. Other commercial vehicle restrictions were issued on the turnpike and other interstates and highways.

Church Sues St. Paul Over Homeless Shelter Restrictions

The lawsuit filed Friday says the city is infringing on First Lutheran Church's religious right to minister to the poor and homeless by placing restrictions on the shelter called Listening House. Restrictions include limiting operation hours and number of people served.

Barre Officials Vote to Remove Deed Restrictions on Building

The Times Argus reports city councilors voted this week to ensure stipulations on the Barre Granite Association building were taken down. Restrictions on the Church Street building property had limited the building to being used as a religious, educational or office space. The restrictions were instituted in 1945 when the city sold the property.
