BrainChip Success in 2020 Advances Fields of on-Chip Learning

BrainChip Holdings Ltd., a leading provider of ultra-low power, high-performance AI technology, ended the 2020 calendar year having made significant strides in the development of its technology backed by the launch of its Early Access Program (EAP), availability of Akida evaluation boards, new partnerships, and expansion of its executive leadership and global facilities. "This past year saw significant progress in the development of the Akida technology in terms of both market readiness and the increase in market possibilities that the solution will provide immediate impact in" The Company's EAP was launched in June targeting specific customers in a diverse set of end markets in order to ensure availability of initial devices and evaluation systems for key applications. Multiple customers have committed to the advanced purchase of evaluation systems for a range of strategic Edge applications including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicles (AV), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Edge vision systems and factory automation. Among those joining the EAP include VORAGO Technologies in a collaboration intended to support a Phase I NASA program for a neuromorphic processor that meets spaceflight requirements. BrainChip is also collaborating with Tier-1 Automotive Supplier Valeo Corporation to develop neural network processing solutions for ADAS and AV.


BrainChip Launches the Akida Early Access Program

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., June 15, 2020 -- BrainChip Holdings Ltd announced an Early Access Program (EAP) for the Akida neural processor System-on-Chip (SoC). The EAP has been targeted at specific customers in a diversity of end markets for early adoption of the Akida device. Since announcing the start of wafer fabrication in April 2020, the demand for evaluation systems, including engineering prototypes, has been significant. In response to this demand, BrainChip has established an EAP for select partners to ensure availability of initial devices and evaluation systems for key applications. Multiple customers have committed to the advanced purchase of evaluation systems for a range of strategic Edge applications including ADAS/AV, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Edge vision systems and factory automation.


BrainChip Showcases Vision and Learning Capabilities of its Akida Neural Processing IP and Device at tinyML Summit 2020

BrainChip Holdings Ltd. (ASX: BRN), a leading provider of ultra-low power, high-performance edge AI technology, today announced that it will present its revolutionary new breed of neuromorphic processing IP and Device in two sessions at the tinyML Summit at the Samsung Strategy & Innovation Center in San Jose, California February 12-13. In the Poster Session, "Bio-Inspired Edge Learning on the Akida Event-Based Neural Processor," representatives from BrainChip will explain to attendees how the company's Akida Neuromorphic System-on-Chip processes standard vision CNNs using industry standard flows and distinguishes itself from traditional deep-learning accelerators through key features of design choices and bio-inspired learning algorithm. These features allow Akida to require 40 to 60 percent fewer computations to process a given CNN when compared to a DLA, as well as allowing it to perform learning directly on the chip. BrainChip will also demonstrate "On-Chip Learning with Akida" in a presentation by Senior Field Applications Engineer Chris Anastasi. The demonstration will involve capturing a few hand gestures and hand positions from the audience using a Dynamic Vision Sensor camera and performing live learning and classification using the Akida neuromorphic platform.


BrainChip and Magik Eye Partner to Combine Best of AI with 3D Sensing

BrainChip Holdings Ltd, a leading provider of ultra-low power high performance AI technology, announced that it has partnered with Magik Eye Inc., developers of revolutionary 3D sensors that change how machines see the world, to market a breakthrough solution for object detection, object classification and gesture recognition based on MagikEye's Invertible Light 3D depth sensing technology and the Akida neuromorphic processor. This relationship opens a new and exciting gateway for BrainChip in Japan. MagikEye's Invertible Light provides the smallest, fastest and most power-efficient 3D depth sensing. This is done using a standard CMOS image sensor and a regular dot projector along with a proprietary and patented technique to produce 3D point cloud data. Coupled with the Akida neuromorphic processor, the companies intend to jointly provide a total 3D vision solution to customers for fast 3D object detection and recognition in applications, including robotics, automotive and emerging consumer products, such as AR/VR and others.
