Amazon Prime Day will run 30 hours this year instead of a typical 24-hour day. Want to get the early edge for bagging big deals during July's biggest made-up shopping holiday? As part of its promotion, Amazon is pitching that shoppers use the Amazon App for "early deal" watching for Amazon Prime Day. Amazon will hold its third annual Prime Day on July 11 -- but the day of reportedly extraordinary deals will expand to 30 hours this year, instead of the 24 in an ordinary'day.' Prime Day will officially kick off at 9 p.m. Eastern time on July 10. A string of one-day specials was scheduled for this week, too, including discounts of up to 35% off select food and household items in the Prime Pantry for "Everyday Essentials" on July 8.
Prime Day, Amazon's summer shopping event, is back for its fourth appearance. On Monday, July 16, Amazon will offer deals for thirty-six hours on over a million products on its sites around the world. Bargain hunters can track all the action starting at noon Pacific time via the company's Prime Day landing page. If you still haven't checked out Prime Day, it may sound like an overhyped "Black Friday in July" sale. But while the company did fall flat in its first year with a crop of lackluster deals, the last two years featured a selection of genuinely good tech bargains.
Are you ready for Amazon's Prime Day sales extravaganza? If you're not, you should probably ask Alexa to start, since the AI holds the keys to some of the best deals of the promotion. Prime users looking to take advantage of the annual e-commerce will get their first crack via Alexa. Voice Shopping deals start extra early at 7 p.m. ET on July 10, getting a two-hour edge over everyone else. Online specials start rolling out to everyone else starting at 9 p.m. ET.
It's the third installment of Prime Day, and the event has already proven to net massive sales. This year the company has promised it will be bigger than ever, with discounts on hundreds of thousands of items for Prime members all over the globe. Amazon has given a few hints about what's to come. If past years are any indicator, the deals will encompass a wide, if not comical, variety of items. Here's what you need to know.
Amazon is continuing its week of pre-Prime Day sales with a killer deal on an awesome car charger. Anker's Alexa-enabled 2-port USB Roav VIVA is on sale on Amazon today for $34 for Prime members, down from a list price of $60 and the lowest price we've ever seen. With built-in Alexa voice control, this car charger does a whole lot more than boost your phone battery. It also allows you to make calls, play music, get directions from Google Maps, and more, all hands-free. Plus, it's designed to cut through the noise of your commute to isolate your voice commands.
