WWDC: Apple launches HomePod, a Siri speaker 'to reinvent home music'

Apple has officially launched HomePod, a Siri-powered talking music system for the home. It looks unusual, like a cross between Google Home and the Mac Pro, all wrapped up in mesh. Apple says it has "the power to rock the house", thanks to its use of seven different tweeters, and the huge bass woofer that sits right in the middle. The I.F.O. is fuelled by eight electric engines, which is able to push the flying object to an estimated top speed of about 120mph. Nintendo Switch online plans revealed: Release date and price of multiplayer service confirmed by company

Nintendo will finally unveil its online service for the Switch next year, it has confirmed. The full launch will happen in 2018. When it does, Switch players will pay $20 per year to get access to a range of new and existing features. Until the service rolls out, Switch owners will be able to play online for free. But they also won't get access to the features that will come at the full launch, which includes proper matchmaking and a phone app.


Roaming charges to end across the European Union, but callers are warned about a huge catch

Roaming charges are finally being killed off, after the EU forced phone companies to stop hitting people with massive, shock bills. But customers have been warned that they might still have to pay more than they expect and should continue to be vigilant. The roaming charges will come to an end after 15 June. That will mean that people in the UK can take their normal contract – with all its free calls, texts and data – anywhere in the EU, for no extra cost. Instagram accounts are being mysteriously shut down by a bug

Instagram users are complaining that their accounts appear to have been deleted for no apparent reason. The photo-sharing app's Twitter and Facebook pages are being bombarded with messages from users who have lost access to their accounts and are unable to log in to them. The affected users' Instagram accounts look as if they've been deleted, with the message "Sorry, this page isn't available" appearing on them.
