It's already "late October" and it's the period Apple is expected to launch its wireless earbuds called the AirPods. The entirely wireless earbuds were showcased during the Cupertino giant's launch event for its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models. Since the device was first advertised, it caught the attention of many consumers. Unfortunately, expectant customers should wait a little more before they can get their own pair. This Wednesday, Apple announced the disappointing news that its AirPods will not be released before the month of October ends.
When Apple first announced its AirPods in September the company said the wireless earbuds would be available in October. Reports then said Apple delayed its AirPods until 2017 but that may not be the case. Apple reseller Conrad says they will receive AirPods stock starting November 17, and will make them available to buy online by Nov.18-19, according to MacRumors. "Hello, I have just talked with an employee of the Conrad Online Store, since I am there on 14.10 the AirPods ordered and I wanted to cancel today. According to information from the employee, they have stockpiles from 17.11, I will then have them between November 18-19."
The Apple AirPods release date could be sooner than we thought. The AirPods will allegedly begin shipping over the "next few weeks," it was revealed in an email obtained by MacRumors from a customer to Apple CEO Tim Cook. MacRumors said it has verified the email's headers and said it seems to originate from Apple's corporate servers. Apple executives sometimes reply to customers, but some emails could be fake, MacRumors noted. Apple has AirPods listed on its website for $159, but the earphones are currently marked as "coming soon," with no AirPods released date listed.
The Apple AirPods have been delayed, yet again. According to analysts, the wireless earphones might not see a 2016 release. Despite being showcased at the iPhone 7 launch in September, the earphones are yet to hit the store shelves. Apple's official statement to TechCrunch in October stated: "The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers."
If you were hoping to get a pair of Apple's new AirPods to sync with your headphone jack-less iPhone 7, you're going to have to wait. According to TechCrunch, Apple has delayed the release of its new wireless earbuds. Apple told the news site, "We don't believe in shipping a product before it's ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers." At the iPhone 7 announcement last month, the company said the $159 earbuds would be available in "late October." Apple had provided pre-production AirPods to tech reviewers to test alongside iPhone 7, with several praising the earbuds even though their design is a bit jarring.
