BrainChip Introduces Energy Efficient and Precise AI Edge Solution at AI Field Day - Gestalt IT

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a rapidly growing field. In "The State of AI in 2020" report, McKinsey found that 50% of the organizations surveyed have adopted AI in at least one function within their business. BrainChip developed the Akida Event-Domain Neural Processor to enable AI to run at an organization's edge, a location AI typically couldn't reach. BrainChip introduced and demonstrated the Akida solution at AI Field Day in November. The typical AI system requires thousands of data points to successfully train the algorithm and a powerful system to process the model.


BrainChip Showcases Vision and Learning Capabilities of its Akida Neural Processing IP and Device at tinyML Summit 2020

BrainChip Holdings Ltd. (ASX: BRN), a leading provider of ultra-low power, high-performance edge AI technology, today announced that it will present its revolutionary new breed of neuromorphic processing IP and Device in two sessions at the tinyML Summit at the Samsung Strategy & Innovation Center in San Jose, California February 12-13. In the Poster Session, "Bio-Inspired Edge Learning on the Akida Event-Based Neural Processor," representatives from BrainChip will explain to attendees how the company's Akida Neuromorphic System-on-Chip processes standard vision CNNs using industry standard flows and distinguishes itself from traditional deep-learning accelerators through key features of design choices and bio-inspired learning algorithm. These features allow Akida to require 40 to 60 percent fewer computations to process a given CNN when compared to a DLA, as well as allowing it to perform learning directly on the chip. BrainChip will also demonstrate "On-Chip Learning with Akida" in a presentation by Senior Field Applications Engineer Chris Anastasi. The demonstration will involve capturing a few hand gestures and hand positions from the audience using a Dynamic Vision Sensor camera and performing live learning and classification using the Akida neuromorphic platform.


BrainChip Simplifies Deep Learning with Launch of MetaTF

The MetaTF development environment is an easy-to-use, complete machine learning framework for the creation, training and testing of neural networks, supporting the development of systems for Edge AI on BrainChip's Akida event domain neural processor. The MetaTF development environment leverages TensorFlow and Keras for industry-standard neural network development and training and includes the Akida Execution Engine (chip simulator), data-to-event converters, and a model zoo of pre-trained models. The framework leverages the Python scripting language and its associated tools and libraries, including Jupyter notebooks and NumPy. Deep-learning professionals do not need to learn a new framework to start using MetaTF immediately.

BrainChip Presents on AI in Edge Devices at Linley Fall Processor Conference 2020

(ASX: BRN), a leading provider of ultra-low power high performance AI technology, today announced that Chief Development Officer Anil Mankar will present "A Neuromorphic Processor for Power Efficient Edge AI Applications" at the Linley Fall Processor Conference 2020 October 20 at 9:30 a.m. BrainChip's presentation is part of the conference's first-day session "AI in Edge Devices." As part of the presentation, Mankar will provide an update on the AKD1000, BrainChip's first Neural network SoC (NSoC), and describe the advantages of processing information in the event-domain. A 10-minute Q&A session will immediately follow the conclusion of his speech. "Many edge-AI processors take advantage of the spatial sparsity in neural network models to eliminate unnecessary computations and save power," said Mankar.
