In other words, it wants to make its AI have some EI, emotional intelligence, as well to help identify human emotions and, if needed, console their users. Jeffrey was the CEO of a hedge fund, and he was upset about some poor trades that Tom, one of his portfolio managers, made. He called Tom into his office. "Those trades were a terrible idea! Scientists have created an AI chatbot that uses machine learning to better understand the links between language and how we feel. And this could lead to the creation of ever smarter home assistants like Siri and Alexa, as well as laying the foundations for emotionally engaging robots. The Emotional Chatting Machine (ECM) was developed by a team of Chinese researchers. Their aim was to create an AI bot capable of replying to chat messages with an appropriate emotional reaction.
